Golf is not the best reputation when it comes to protecting the environment, and with good reason – golf courses, more or less large lawn in maintaining a constant need for water, fertilizer and maintenance (usually gas mowers). The golf courses carved into the natural landscape and native species crowd, grasses and wildlife.

But not all are terrible. A handful of golf courses around the world were built with an eye for the environment and the placement of sand traps and water holes. The owners of golf courses are using native plants in the landscape of their courses, to reduce or eliminate the use of chemical fertilizers, and taking into account the existing landscape design and construction.
